Why Stainless steel?
4 Guys Fire Trucks are builders of true custom fire trucks. Our fire bodies are built from 12 gauge 304 stainless steel. They carry a standard 30 year body warranty. Why build with stainless steel? Because it lasts much longer that steel or aluminum.
Stainless steel wont rust, unlike steel bodies. This is important in the Northeast - where there are all kinds of chemicals being used on our winter roads. Aluminum bodies will start to develop "white rust" - which is a form of corrosion that will attack the aluminum. Our bodies hold up well enough to be re-chassised after 15 - 20 years, which saves a great deal of money over time. Stainless steel is very rugged and will just plain last!
